Honeypot Hideaways are three hi-specification Siberian larch glamping pods for our adult-only guests to relax and chill in comfort. Located on a private smallholding down a quiet bridle path on the North Wales and Chester border, they all look out over the surrounding countryside and the Cheshire Plain.
Our luxury glamping pods include everything you need for a great self-contained stay. The kitchenette has a sink, a two-ring induction hob, a microwave and a fridge-freezer. There are quality double beds with a futon for a third guest, and a TV. Finally there is a full en-suite shower room - you just need to bring your own towels and toiletries - we provide everything else. Outside the pods are reclining chairs to sit back and relax, a picnic table and barbecue when you want to dine al-fresco. Weather permitting, we also can provide a gazebo to shelter you from those summer showers or hot summer sun - a great place to read or just listen to the birds. We are a great alternative to a hotel - so much so , we received the Booking.com 2023 Traveller Award !
Out and about, think rural bridleways on your doorstep, cycling trails and footpaths, as well as tracks in the hills, forests or beaches. Being so close to the A55, the North Wales coast is 45 minutes’ drive with Snowdonia around an hour or so from the site. So, with the coast a car ride away, and cities such as Chester (25 minutes’ drive) and Liverpool (45 minutes) also within reach, it doesn’t have to be all about the countryside.
However, the countryside is certainly spectacular, and the site is on a system of quiet bridle paths and footpaths whenever you want to stretch your legs. Situated between the country villages of Higher Kinnerton and Hope, it’s a 20-minute walk into the centres, where there are country pubs such as The Royal Oak for those tasty meals out, Walter's café for luxury coffees and decadent cakes, and a local Co-Op when you’d rather take advantage of your pod’s fully-fitted kitchen.
The site is calm and relaxed so we don't allow parties or loud music out of respect of all our guests. Also dogs are unfortunately not allowed due to the close proximity of livestock.
There is so much to do within an hours drive of Honeypot Hideaways. Just 25 minutes drive takes you into the centre of the Roman city of Chester, with its encircling city wall, the UK’s oldest racecourse and the world famous Chester Zoo. Boats and other watercrafts can be taken out onto the River Dee for a different view of the city too. If its the coast you want, then the Welsh seaside towns of Rhyl and Colwyn Bay are under an hour, and 30 minutes the other way takes you to The Wirral with spectacular beach walks, a sailing sea-lake at West Kirby, and The Wirral Way - a 13 mile old railway line now fabulous for walks or cycling.
You might be in search of mountain hikes and outdoor sports. Snowdonia National Park, about an hour away, has plenty to keep you going including mountain biking, climbing and cycling - and the worlds fastest zipline at Penrhyn Quarry.
Liverpool is around a 45 minute drive where you can visit the famous Albert Docks and end your session in a bar or dockside restaurant. Or immerse yourself in the birthplace of The Beatles where every corner has a tale of the Fab Four.
Are you a shopaholic? Chester and Liverpool are fabulous places to visit. If these are too far, there is Broughton Shopping Park just 15 minutes from us with high street shops, a cinema, takeaways and restaurants. Another 25 minutes takes you to Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet Village - one of the the largest in the UK.
